A cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash in San Jose on Thursday night, according to the police department.
Authorities said the crash was reported at 7:24 p.m. in the area of Altamara Avenue and Moncucco Way. According to police, the bicyclist was taken to a local hospital while the driver involved remained on the scene.
Police said Altamara Avenue from Pinotin Court to Eldiva Court will be blocked off for a significant amount of time. Officials advised the public to drive with caution and use alternate routes.
